Have you ever wondered why alcoholism seems to run in families? The answers to these question lies in our DNA. According to recent studies certain genes can make your risk of becoming an alcoholic higher than it would be. So what dose this mean for you? Well, it doesn't mean that just because you have a family history of addiction that you will become addicted it means that you are more vulnerable but as long as you make good choices you should be fine. An example of this is a gene that is more common in of people of Asian descent make it so that it is harder for them to absorb alcohol.
I personally think that the article is very interesting. The main reason that I think that the article is interesting is because my family on my moms side has a history of addiction so it makes me wonder what genes are influencing this trend.

Good job taking on the challenge reading. I think there is more to summarize and I would like to see more of a personal response. If we are starting to learn more about the specific genes that effect alcoholism, how do you think that could impact the future of addiction? How about the complexity of multiple genes, how they interact with each other and how they interact with your environment?
